Tension Frame

The Riser Tensioning Frame (RTF) is placed over the moon pool opening, below drill floor inside the cantilever in the longitudinal direction of the rig. Dedicated beams will be installed in moon pool to accommodate the tensioning frame and to provide means of skidding the tension frame independent of the personnel basket. Four tensioners, attached to the riser tensioning frame, can be made up to the tension ring and transfer a desired tension load to the riser string in the range 0 – 300 MT.
